Poll: Working and having a partner

  • I work and have a partner
  • I work and DON’T have a partner

This poll is only for the folks that work. I’m just wondering how important having a partner is in that ability.

I worked before I had a partner too. I always had a strong support network though.

I am working and have worked for 108 months in total since 2000. I have never been in love.

I met my exgf at my volunteer job, she was on the staff there. It’s not a coincidence I have no friends/life now that I don’t work. I didn’t vote btw

I work and sort of have a partner?.. Committed to life-long friendship lady friend… doesn’t really fall into the categories listed so I went with the second option.

I’d say my ability to work is almost completely dependant on having a partner, and kids to provide for. My wife pushes me to keep going, whereas if I was single with no kids I’d be completely content not working.

Interesting vote. I would widen it to the general social support thing, not necessarily a partner… I also got a job before being in a relationship but always has had a great support from my family and friends…

I don’t have any social support beyond my partner. Even before I got sick, she has always been the driving force behind making me responsible in work, and life in general.

I was fairly bummed when I didn’t see my option :frowning: lol

@Nomad don’t do his nightly polls anymore!

What would your option be?

no job , boyfriend.

O, I think that got left out because they wanted to know specifically about people that do work.

yes I understand that
but I didn’t realize that until after I didn’t get to choose my answer. lol.

You don’t have a category: no job, no partner. :crying_cat_face:

I really don’t even care that I don’t have a partner. The voices annoy me enough, that I’m never lonely.
Those ■■■■■■■!

I have a partner and I work.

It helps having a partner because I know that if stuff hits the fan at work and I quit, I don’t have sole responsibility for financial things.

Partner sounds like a business partner to me. You mean a relationship like marriage? I am married and don’t have a job right now. I am retired.
