Yeah you’re right. It’s just that so many people out there deserve better, so we feel guilty for being lucky.

That’s exactly it.
I am lucky that my university and classmate helped me a lot after I was diagnosed with sz. I am also lucky that I have a job.
I don’t think I am very lucky as I have the illness of SZ . But I count myself as the lucky one because I have a very supportive husband and a caring son, I receive a bit pension from government, I had wonderful experience of a career and excellent education, and above all I am stable on antipsychotics.
I don’t believe in luck. (Someone had to!) In all seriousness though, I’d have to say I’m pretty lucky to be alive, to have managed to somehow attract and keep a wife, to have procreated attractive, inquisitive and intelligent children and to have had my rear-end saved for me by the good grace of others more than I deserve. Most of my “misfortune” is the result of my own stupidity, so I would be classified as an arrogant ass to call myself unlucky, despite the genetics I inherited. It could be worse … I think under-thinking would be far worse than over-thinking: I mean the ability not the inclination.

I feel extremely lucky too. I have an amazing husband who really loves me for me.
I have two beautiful amazing kids. I managed to graduate with my deploma and finish high school with a new baby.
I’m going to college, a first for my family, and continued through while pregnant with my daughter. Still going to college actually lol.
And best of all I’m not dead or on really bad drugs which I would have been had I not met my husband the same night I was gonna end it all. So yeah, I consider myself very lucky.
