Most of the cops I’ve met seemed trustworthy.
I trust them, just when I report stuff, like a theft , they ignore it and blame it on SZ
I used to smoke alot of weed years ago, and everytime I saw the cops, my stomach churned.
I still get the feeling, despite being sober.
‍♂
I don’t trust the police.
Of all the times I’ve been around a cop,
I’ve only had one good experience.
I’ve only had a few good experiences.
I hate cops. I compare them to cockroaches. In other words, they’re everywhere. I’ve never had a good experience with them.
My mom dated a cop when I was young. He abused my sister and me and used his gun on us regularly to make us afraid. He also told us he could kill us and make the scene look like we were bad kids and it was self defense. I’ve met plenty other cops and all of them just wanted power and didn’t care about anyone or anything. They’re sociopaths. I absolutely do not trust them at all
I’m sorry @LilyoftheValley
I don’t disagree with you that most cops are sociopathic.
I have a brother thats a retired officer . Most of the people I have meet are good at there job. Some are not as good. Fear is not meeting and talk with one. I had to learn it myself. Peace
I trust my Canadian police, ive had mostly good experiences with them. Though I will admit there is some bad apples out there.
I have a first cousin that’s a cop.
He’s one of the good guys.
I don’t like cops.
Defund.
I used to work for a law enforcement department (being very vague on purpose; don’t think you can blame me), and I found that a lot of their mentality was an us vs them type. They do have a blue wall they hide behind, and they do abuse their power, because they have it, and they’re the ultimate authority in the matter. Aside from this, I needed the police to help me with a trespasser I caught in the act here where I’m staying. Very negative interaction. Not helpful and not pro-public.
i have a band member , that work at a training center, he says they don’t have enough d escalation hour and far to many hour shooting. also training in other weapons is less too. at best. no defund, maybe retrain. but hell we all need someone to safe us from time to time.
Up until 2016 the city of Chicago had zero training for mental health issues.
But the cook county sheriff that runs the jails says like 80%+ have mental health issues.
How can you have a prison population that’s loaded with mental health problems and no training for law enforcement how to handle SMI.
SMH
Someone (feds?) needs to undo all the militarization the police have gone through since the early 2000s when the US military started loaning equipment to police departments. They look like a member of the military these days, with body armor, all kinds of gizmos and gadgets, M-4s, etc. What happened to the cop who knew the neighborhood and carried a revolver and based his response on thinking and talking things out instead of immediately going from zero to lethal force?
The states seem to have a much bigger issue with police than we do here in Canada. Maybe that’s just perception. Most of my interactions with police over the years have been fairly decent.
Having said that, I have seen them do some pretty shity things growing up.
I’ve had mostly good interactions, but some bad. I actually went to school to be a cop. Things happened, I never got on a force, and tbh I am glad now. I am a totally different person now.
I will say that I have never feared for my life from the cops. Of course, I’m white, that should be obvious from never fearing for my life.
As a minority, I have a huge distrust in the cops.
I do have “the complexion for the protection,” as they say-- meaning that although I’m a minority I often pass for white.
Still makes me nervous, though.
