Mostly greasy junk combined with sweets earlier on.

Right now I’m controlling the amount of food I eat and I’m slowly losing weight. It’s hard though with the constant cravings.

Chlorpromazine and Olanzapine both made me gain a load of weight, even without eating more.

I’m the same as you @Leaf but I hope with time it will become easier to dismiss those cravings.

I have sza and needed a mood stabilizer, when we choose one we choose topomax because it sometimes works for weight loss. I’ve noticed that my cravings for sweets had been cut in half at least. It used to be a struggle from sun up to sun down not to just shovel the sweets into my mouth. Now I have a tiny bit of control.

That’s a great start though having a bit more self-control @Leaf. Hopefully, the weight loss will help with motivation for staying on the diet.

I eat a normal amount but am very obese. I don’t exercise though on the account I don’t go out. Maybe I should buy an exercise bike?

I bought an exercise bike for under $200 at fingerhut.com, My monthly payment is $12.99. I have a hard time getting motivated to do it, but once I get in the swing of it I feel so much better. I’m very happy I bought it. I bought the recumbent type for ease of use and comfort. I didn’t want anything to hard to start with. I really think you should do it. I love you son.

What is a ‘normal amount’? How many calories do you eat?

Harvard Health Publications ranks vigorous stationary biking as one of the most efficient calorie-burning exercises in the gym, at a whopping 466 calories in 30 minutes if you weight 185 pounds. A general elliptical trainer workout will burn slightly fewer calories, 400 in half an hour, while running or walking on a treadmill can smash both of these numbers if you go fast enough. You’d have to run at a steady 5.2 mph to match the elliptical’s calorie burn, or 6 mph to match vigorous cycling.
