Poem: You’ve got light in your eyes

You’ve got light in your eyes
But for how long?
Some find fault in your every move
Others make you feel worthless

Sometimes it feels like
Everyone is out to put the light out
But you’ve done nothing wrong
Nothing in my eyes

You’ve got light in your eyes
But for how long?
Don’t let them steal it
Don’t let them put it out

The light is like a candle
Flickering, vulnerable to heavy blows
I’ll do what I can to protect it
Or light a new one

Great poem! It reminds me of two songs, separately on both of U2’s latest albums, Songs of Innocence and Songs of Experirience.
