I have difficulties just managing my house chores…I would like to work at a fun job part time, just to get out of the house more…

I used to work on a antipsychotic when I was young in a job that was more laborious than thinking. For a few years I did a VISTA volunteer job that required more thinking. than labor. However I took less than a full medicine dose on the laborious job in order to keep down the weight gain. On the more sit down job when I was fully medicated my weight ballooned. All that was available for me following the VISTA job was laborious jobs that I could no longer do. When I was less medicated the voices were much more involved and I often pointed middle fingers at the restroom mirror aimed at the voices. I barely did that fully medicated. I could barely socialize throughout. I then earned an associate’s degree followed by a bad relapse. I did regretful things that made it very hard to go back to work really during that relapse. They told me I did great jobs at both work sites. Now they keep me “stable” at a group home. When I worked at the first job I weighed over 100 lighter than I do now. I once could work well with an antipsychotic in spite of the problems I was having. I don’t think so now.

I’m not capable of working, not even on meds.
My current psychiatrist agrees.
