This month I started downloading music but realize I don’t have much “good stuff” to deal with the pain of my 19 year old cousin getting cancer. I downloaded Macklemore but it’s not exactly the emotion I’m going for. Ed Sheeran’s X album has a few appropriate songs. Do you guys know any good sad (but not depressing) songs? Being home this year made me realize I’m an adult now. I need to hold responsibilities in how I spend my job money, deal with my emotions in a mature way and maybe I’ve been too selfish when it comes to getting emotional satisfaction from my family. For years, I’ve been in denial about my cousin’s illness and in general about anything in life that I find sad. This trip is bringing out the pain a little and I need a good soundtrack.

This isn’t quite a sad song but it does deal with mortality. The artist really helped after my Dad died.

A good deal of his songs are related to death/dying.
