Pierre Fabre to use implantable biosensor chips in schizophrenia trial

Pierre Fabre has struck a deal to use implantable biosensor chips in its clinical trials. The first step is to assess the feasibility of using the chips in a schizophrenia pilot project, after which Pierre Fabre may expand use of the technology to any study in which it wants to track drug concentrations and other metrics.

This just seems like another bad idea, similar to the Proteus / Abilify effort, as it could be triggering for some significant portion of this population.

Clearly this isn’t for the actively paranoid psychotic. There are some of us who aren’t. I don’t think this is a bad idea at all. It is the future and will come to everyone in time.

I’m sure there were paranoids railing about social security numbers and driver’s licenses when they first came out. Once the insurance companies find a way to save money by monitoring people’s biology it’ll become standard and mandatory for everyone.
