People in need

There is an increase of people in need in our city. Homless, sick and the drugaddicts. It seems the hospitals are not coping. People like me have to help. Anyway i helped all my life so i don’t have to adapt to the new change.

Yeah the war on drugs failed and modern economics means there’s fewer of the middle class and a lot more poor people.

I too give where I can. I don’t have a lot of income so I have to be selective! It’s a good thing to give back to your community and I applaud you for that!

Good for you for doing what you can. Like @rogueone said, the war on drugs has been a dismal failure. No one with a drug addiction should face gaol time in my opinion. When you are in the grips of addiction, you can’t make rational decisions. Society these days isn’t set up much to help people, unless you are already well off. If you are someone on the poorer end of the spectrum, you get very little help. If you’re someone on the well off side of the spectrum, all manner of opportunities are there for you. It is a sad state of affairs, because it means ordinary people, who are probably already struggling themselves financially, have to give support. But good on you for doing what you can. I’m sure there are plenty of people who are very appreciative of what you’ve done.

In most cases it cost time, and i got plenty. Just passing on the information and knowhow.

Y’all remember those “just say no” campaigns in the 80s? I never touched drugs and that’s why.

People out of dysfunctional families are more likely to pick up drugs. It don’t have to be mental illness, but just to cope somehow with the trauma. Runaways. Everybody is coping differently to their Problems, i believe.

My sister did drugs for a while then quit when she found out she was pregnant. She’s been clean I think for years.
