How do I change it

My apologies for side-tracking the conversation with my concern for your privacy. I’m now in my fifties, was diagnosed in my twenties. I’ve been dealing with this illness, mostly successfully, for a couple of decades now. I’m married, have a kid, have a career, and am financially comfortable. Here’s what worked for me:

  • Take meds as directed.
  • Follow treatment advice.
  • Do CBT/therapy whenever it’s offered.
  • Do workbooks if you can’t get access to the above.
  • Make small achievable lists, nail them, make more.
  • Try to find ways to push yourself each day.
  • Keep a recovery journal to track your progress.
  • Keep a positive, recovery oriented attitude.

This is what worked for me and I’ve seen it work for many others. Hope you find this helpful.

This is from a guy who’s nearly recovered, and maybe can no longer relate

what you’re experiencing really sucks

I get it

hope it’s not real

maybe you could put on music?

these seem to be standby things going thru your head.

Very good advice, @shutterbug. May I ask what your dx is?

Have some of u been thru reading things n people can hear that too

Paranoid schizophrenia for the last decade or so (I am less certain of dates as time passes). Was originally disorganized schizophrenia because I would have periods of catatonia. I suspect (and have been told the same by pdocs) that the original DX was likely incorrect as I’ve always suffered from delusional thinking. I’d just become overwhelmed by the symptoms so badly I shut down and literally “shut off”.

Also diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome, which is now “on the spectrum”. I liked the former label better as we tend to identify as “Aspies”. Telling people you have an “ass burger” is an added bonus.

all the time, I thought they get bored and give up

they never did. It sucks not to have peace in your own mind.

No like just hearing wat ur reading every single time

That’s cute. Thanks for your reply.

No I really mean it

I have no privacy here but if u really been thru it hit me back up

I have been dealing with people reading my mind or hearing my thoughts for 10 years. I figured it out, but no one but one person has ever admitted that they could hear my thoughts.
I think people believe I’m better off not knowing but it is too late I know.

People can not hear what you are reading. It is impossible.

People can’t really read your mind. It’s a common delusion with schizophrenia.

Take your meds as prescribed and tell your worried to your doctor.

What medications are you currently on?

I’m treating this currently with invega sustenna and seems to be working so far. Abilify and Haldol may also work.
