Does it bother anyone when someone coughs around you? Whenever I go on walks, some people just let out a cough as they walk by. Why do they do that? Is it a sign of disgust? Or am I just being paranoid?

Nope most people hardly cover their mouths properly in out door due to ignorance of germ spreading … a few do but most don’t.

People cough all the time, you only notice the ones happening around you though. Try not to develop paranoid thoughts around it.
I used to think that coughs were a response to bad intrusive thoughts I was having, but as my treatment progressed and I had fewer intrusive thoughts, the amount of coughing remained roughly the same, so I un-learned that silly belief.
I’ve struggled with this too. For a long time. Every time I think I have it figured out something happens that will shatter my beliefs. In fact, this is one of my oldest delusions.
I told someone on here that I think people cough out of disgust or contempt and he said he didn’t believe that was true and he honestly didn’t understand what I meant. Every time I think I have it figured out that the coughing is unintentional and doesn’t mean anything (sometimes a cigar is just a cigar) than I get these people who (it seems) cough like its some power trip or something. And when I have roommates with smokers cough it will wreck my serenity faster than anything else.

I hate it when people cough I always feel like they’re trying to get me sick. I wear a lot of masks though luckily so I like to think im a little safer.

Not a sign of disgust nor paranoia,
Its kind of protecting yourself from being attracted and dissolved it another person psyche, you make yourself stiff by coughing or it can be making yourself more alert,
I’ve noticed it in myself and others too, and meanwhile it can be some phlegm in throat we become noticed and try to get rid of it when we see another person,
