Since the most common subtype of schizophrenia is paranoid, who has no flat affect, no disorganized behavior; his madness is not obvious and he can work and have a family, as many studies show, why are we unemployed and unable to work?
Must be the negatives
The most prominent traits: mainly auditory hallucinations and others, paranoid delusion, delusions of grandeur etc.
But studies show the opposite, that negatives are not so prominent as positive symptoms. They are there (not always, sometimes there are no negatives at all) but mild.
I don’t know why these studies say that. I can’t work and I can’t have a family because of schizophrenia. I think they are too positive and not realistic.
The studies are compared with other types of sz.
That’s why it makes pd sz look so good.
Compered to the gen pop, it’s still a big gap
I had a psychiatrist tell me once that schizophrenics can do better than normies because they’re more focused.
I have problems in addition to my fear of being kidnapped and tortured. I get sick very easily and don’t fight things off well. I have periods where I’m very confused and forgetful. And I’m so scared of being kidnapped and tortured I don’t like going places outside my home. I do with my husband but I’m very afraid when I’m alone. I’m even afraid with my husband but just not so much
Also, the men who follow me started coming into my work. If I work again, they’ll be there
All I know is that for someone who is supposedly bipolar, I’m dealing with intense negative symptoms.
Alright guys, I appreciate your replies.
I wanna say that paranoid schizophrenia is the most high functioning subtype.
Paranoid schizophrenia may have late onset, 30 for example, but disorganized in puberty.
So the hebephrenic remains a silly immature child.
Do you get mania or hypomania @Wave?
Sometimes paranoia can keep people from working. I get paranoid about getting bullied again so that’s a big reason why I don’t work.
I get both @LilyoftheValley.
My manias are intense, I become psychotic.
I guess bipolar can come with negatives then. That’s interesting. Could you have sza bipolar type? Or are you only psychotic when you’re manic?
Good question.
I don’t know if I’m psychotic only when I’m manic.
I could very well have sza bipolar type.
