I have done a little research on other forum software besides Discourse.
Interestingly, those modern style of forum software are not free.

The usenet has been around since the 80s, this Discourse software is like that old 80s software.
We played on the forums back then, in the old days. I am a fan of software where the engineers actually get a paycheck.
I am new to this usenet. What I know is newsgroups.
Yes, this newsgroup environment been around since before 1984.
It was only green screen ascii text back then, no images or video.
