On Medicare starting June 1

I was on Medicaid and everything was paid for but now I am being switched to Medicare and they only pay 80%. I have been looking at bridge insurance but it is really expensive and the coverage is so bad that I may be better off just paying my 20%. I defintiely will not be able to go to my therapist as often and will have to limit my pdoc visits to get my meds. If it’s really expensive, I may have to try and get my primary doc to prescribe my risperidone. Not sure what I am going to do? I relied on my Medicaid coverage but my Social Security is too high (funny cuz I am azz broke) too have me on medicaid along with my medicare.

I am cut off medicaid and on medicare as of June 1st. Worried.

Look into an HMO such as Humana ( www.humana.com ).Find a “give back” plan. These plans exempt you from paying Part B ($104.90 per month). Then look for gap insurance. I believe AARP (you can get it as long as you’re 18+ years of age) offers gap insurance (they partner with an insurance company). www.aarp.org

I ‘might’ qualify for help from my state paying my part B premium, thank God. I will look into the gap insurance. So far I have been uninspired.

Some people say people with schizophrenia are insane, but what’s truly insane is having to jump through hoops to get healthcare insurance.

Well, it’s not our fault, but it is our problem.

I’m on both medicaid and Medicare. My county dss hooked me up based on income.

Ya, I make too much to be on Medicaid, unfortunately, even though I am really poor
