I think it might just be me, but I’ve found that many off brand food products taste just as good even better than name brands.
Like now I almost prefer great value chips over Doritos and whatnot.
Maybe it’s just because it’s cheaper? Lol
yeah I think most taste the same. every once in awhile one will taste off but most are good to me.
The Great Value stuff is pretty good. Only exception I’ve found are their gourmet jelly beans (Jelly Belly ripoffs). Those are 100% nasty.
I recently bought some off brand or generic frozen veggies and they were awful!
But most off brand products are just fine.
I think it’s hit and miss.
The No Name stuff from Loblaws here in Canada tends to be pretty awful, especially their Keurig coffee pods. The PC brand stuff tends to be pretty good, however. Some of the No Name stuff is okay, like their canned tomatoes.
I buy a lot of frozen veggies and find the Great Value stuff to be pretty good. No Name stuff is generally horrible. I forget what brand of Brussel sprouts I buy, but they come in huge bags for $10 and are great roasted. So much cheaper than buying fresh. They’re as good as Green Giant frozen brussels at about 1/7th the cost.
There are very few things that I won’t consider buying the store brand. Cokes, smokes and cat food. Anything else is a possible off-brand purchase.
