Of course, right?

Ever since I’ve gotten ill, the goal was to get better. Obviously. To recover. To live as normal and as good a life as I can. Whether you hate the term or concept of normal or not. I got derailed with drugs but after screwing up my life with them, then the goal was to recover from drugs. That’s what life is all about: solving problems. You try to go forward. You slip, you backslide; you keep going. When you’re going through hell, you keep going.

Sometimes it becomes a way of life, and I don’t know what to do AFTER I recover, if I ever do.

You do what you can. I think recovering will open doors for you and give you more opportunities than when you are really sick. Recovering isn’t instant or just suddenly “clicks on”. If you recover It may just be that you end up doing EXACTLY what you are doing NOW–but it will be easier. Nothing wrong with that.

In my past… I feel… I would over come a mistake like drugs… I would stand on that hill of achievement and think… now what? I know… I should conquer that hill again.

So I would make the same mistakes again and try and do it again… for me… it’s hard not to look back and think… I should do this again…

NO, I shouldn’t do it again… I should stop doing it… that is true conquering of the bad habit.
