Nova's weight-loss talk

Let’s have a talk about weight-loss and share results we’re proud of.

I just weighed myself, I’ve lost 2.5kg since last time!
My pants keep falling down, and I’m wearing a t-shirt that used to be too tight, but now is almost a loose fit!

I want to share it with my friend, but he’d probably shoot me down by saying I still have a long way to go.

I’m still proud, though!
I used to weight more than 115kg, now I’m down to 99.4kg.

I know I’m still overweight, but things are going the right way for me, it feels.

So please, let’s be happy about our weight-loss together.
We can also bitch about struggles here, or how sick we are of people pointing out our weight.

I started taking my Metformin again (type 2 diabetes medication that helps the body utilize insulin), and I started moving/walking around more.
I’m also eating a lot less snacks, and I eat rye bread instead of toast bread. It keeps me full for longer and gives me a more even bloodsugar.

Oh, and the soda. When I do drink it, it’s sugar-free,

Good job. I’ve been eating but I walk and hike so much. But I gain like 5 lbs every year. So that’s gotta stop at some point. I need to be healthier

@Jonnybegood have you tried drinking a lot of water before each meal? I mean, as much as you can drink and then a bit more. Harder to overeat when your stomach is full. No calories in water.

I’m 151 lbs. Only 1 lb. over my ideal body weight. I watch my calories and weight like a hawk. I recently lost 3 lbs. I count all of my calories every day. I also only drink plain, black, decaf coffee, and plain, lukewarm tap water. Those are my secrets to success.

I’m gonna join you guys

I’m getting there.

I peaked at 110 kgs…242lbs…I’m on the path.

No sugar. Couple of cans of coke in two or so weeks and way less beer…I’m down to 106kgs and doing allright! It’s a journey.

It’s a worthy thread @Pikasaur . I hope to get down under 100kgs…that would be good but good on you!

Well done, @Pikasaur! :slightly_smiling_face:

I’m having some weight issues lately myself. I’ve gained over 20 pounds, about 10 kilos, in the past few months. It seems like it started when I started working at the gas station, surrounded by junk food and drinking Mtn Dew to keep me up all night, then gained more steam when I started the Paxil, then continued to get worse when I quit smoking. I’m already about back to the weight I was at before I started working out a couple years ago. Now I don’t have a gym membership, had to trim my budget, plus I can’t seem to do cardio anymore without it hurting my back, even just walking on a treadmill. Ugh, if i can’t lose weight I at least need to stop gaining.

My goal is to lose 20 lbs … or 10 and then I want to go to the Dominican Republic and get plastic surgery

I lost 5 lbs, 5 more to go, mostly from just eating less, I’m pretty skinny, but any weight I gain goes to my stomach, so always feel fat

I’m really upset about my scale lately. I was sitting around 160 for the past 18 months and wasn’t bothered with the weight gain as much because I was happy and glad to not care about it. This winter I shot to 180 and was determined to lose it as soon as winter faded. This past two months I went up to 195 and I don’t even know how. I’m not doing anything different my weight has never been this high without me being pregnant. I’m eating crap food but not more of it and I’m hiking again. The only new thing is Latuda. It’s suposed to be wright neutral but I just don’t think it is. 20 lbs gained since I’ve started taking it a couple months ago. :frowning: I feel like I can’t ever get back to my 140 body after all the APs and negative symptoms jumping me up so high.

Have you worked with your macros?

Not in a long while. I know I’ve reached this point because of my lifestyle even if meds make you gain I can counteract it. I just can’t seem to do it anymore. I went from being thin and fit to not really giving a ■■■■. And then it’s like I woke up and went holy crap whose taken. Over my body. She did a bad job and I want my body back.

I think I’ve alwsys done best with a keto style diet as I’m O+ and coincidentally I read sz people do best with keto diet and lose a lot of symptoms eating that way. I want to try and get back into an eating plan and then I just don’t.

I’m not into Keto imho. You’ll lose weight, yes, but be miserable ■■■■ that. Look into not having processed foods especially sugar late in the day. Actually, try to get most sugar from fruits and whole grains. It’s really up to what you want to do. Yes, AP cause you to not be able to eat as many calories but if you exercise, you’re on the same field plus wil feel and look better. If intointense exercise then you’ll need high gi foods post workout but I don’t think you are at that point. There’s so much about nutrition I could post for hours. Portion control and exercise is the healthy way to go

I really don’t think I’m ready to work out either. Maybe I’ll just wake up and want to do a dead lift again. Until then I’ll enjoy not enjoying anything. I’m going hiking in a few hours. Maybe I’ll jog some it.

No white sugar for me today. I eat a lot of candy lately. I think that’s new. I crave it a lot. And I live off frozen pizza because I’m so lazy and can’t be bothered to eat good food. That’s gone too. No more easy foods. It’s just depressing I don’t want to live like my dad.

Well, now I understand the weight gain. You’re giving into your meds side effects. Don’t understand…wake up and do a deadlift again?
