She’d have gotten in A in my post-grad course for this, even tho she missed the ventral tegmentum in the reward system.

The key take-away here is “too much of a good thing may not be any better than too little of it… in both cases.”

Low H5T and low Da will make one feel somewhere between “sloggy” and “suicidal,” BUT adding H5T and/or Da to the mid-brain of a pt with sz may make them hear the voices at a volume of TEN, as well as increase the tendency to seek rewards the voices promise (or at least infer).

The hip psychopharmacologist has a pretty good idea of how much of these two chemicals to “precurse” if and when needed… tho some degree of experimentation is often necessary.

What exactly did you study in grad school. You know a lot about brain science.

Extensive studies of… neurobiology, neurophysiology, neurochemistry, brain mapping & function, psychopharmacology, psychoanalytic theory and practice, post-Freudian object relations, personality theory & research (especially in the DSM Axis II Cluster B “assertive” strata), family & cultural systems influences, existentialism and existential psychotherapies, early life and developmental theories & research, autonomic nervous system function & dysfunction, trauma theory & traumatic stress (plus treatment thereof), attachment theory & research, behavioristic theory & research, cognitive theory & research, Transpersonal psychology & psychotherapy, Eastern “religious” roots of mindfulness psychology & psychotherapy, and about a dozen different and specific mindfulness-based cognitive psychotherapies, as well as a lot of other stuff.

I could barely crawl from the bed to the bathroom or kitchen in 1994, 1997, 1999 and 2002, the terror was so bad. I am a =very= motivated buyer.
