So my upper left molar started to hurt an hour ago. Sudden spikes of pain, each lasting less than a second, then diffuse aches in between spikes. I am afraid to eat. There’s no visible cavity, but the tooth has a 12 yo filling. Maybe something bad has happened underneath. Gotta see a dentist soon, get my tooth rx’ed first, then I suspect a root canal will be in order. Yuck.

If there are any dollar stores where you live you might be able to get a 20% benzocaine solution for a dollar.
