So I’m knitting a hat that I want to try and sell on Etsy. The issue is that I’m using a pattern that I bought off a website. Some people think that using a pattern that says « not for commercial use » or similar language means that the pattern maker is the only one entitled to sell things made from that pattern. But if it’s my materials and my time spent making the hat, then am I not in the right to sell it? Not sure if I explained this well, but I thought I’d see what other people think.
Technically you can’t sell it but I don’t think they monitor websites for this.
From what I’ve read on the subject, I can sell it and it’s not technically wrong. But some people think it’s morally wrong and that I’m kind of unsure about it.
Did the website you bought the design from said you can’t sell it?
