Not moving for three years

When I turn 65 I can start drawing my employer pension from a job I had when I was a young man. My pension will put me over the income limit of the apartment building I currently live in.

I turn 62 at the end of May and was looking into moving into a Senior Citizen (62+) apartment building that has a higher income limit. I was concerned that there might be a wait list several years long, so I was going to apply after I turn 62.

My case manager called them today to get some information. They told her there were apartments available immediately, but only the $575 ones, not the studio apartments for $475. I currently pay $480.

My case manager and the apartment manager thought I should wait until I draw my pension then move in, so that’s what I am going to do.
