I started to till up my garden and then stopped after about an hour. the job will take all day, ill do it tomorrow or Tuesday. I’m growing fatter and lazier
Its ok, pace yourself.
An hour’s worth of work is a lot!
thanks wave. pace is probably key, slow and easy. I wear out so much quicker than just a couple years ago
That is funny.
Is this by hand or machine? Either way is a tough job.
People have to take breaks to do that kind of work. About like what you were doing works for very physically fit people.
Two hr of work, half hr rest and sports drink, then start again. If you havent done exercise on a regular basis then work 1hour then rest 20 minutes.
You will do fine, just dont get over heated or you will puke. The over heated and puking mostly happens when we dont pace ourselves.
This means if you or the weather is already a bit warm then try to rush and really tear into the work. If we do that it usually results in a tired feeling or light nausea the rest of the day.
Slow and steady. Take breaks. Accomplish work over a time of days not hours if needed.
I used to work from sunup to sun down physically. I had to sit down, and work at a computer the last 5 years. I changed shape…well, I got out of shape. Hehe.
I started jogging again almost 2 months ago a mile every other day. At first I had to run a few hundred feet, then walk a few hundred feet, and repeat to get the whole mile done. I’ve never been that out of shape in my life before whether I was a kid or adult.
If I tried to get all of that mile or more done at one time because that’s the mind set I used to have. LOL But, but my lungs would be on fire, my body shivering, and constantly wanting to puke for a few hours. That was crazy.
So I’d just run until my esophagus and lungs started to inflame, then walk to cool down. Then do that again. For the first month the run spurts would get shorter all of the way because it would take less time before I felt that burn in my airways.
Yesterday I finished 3/4 mile one way without any walking, and I felt like I could keep running, no burning, no shivering, nothing.
It’s just gradually getting it done.
Sitting here having coffee and not wanting to go to work.
I finally got the garden tilled up. haven’t started planting yet. In the middle of my raised beds I’m going to have kale spinach and a summer salad. the kale and spinach will be hardy through the winter with the addition of a row cover. i’m way behind this year because of weather and other factors. I fear it may be a little late for the greens but I’m going to try to grow them anyways. either way ill still have my raised beds. also decided not to start the tea and smoke garden since I’m going to be moving. at that point I was optimistic about living here and was considering buying the place from my parents
