Maybe you could do a few paintings where you focus on trees specifically and not worry about the rest of the picture?
I think the colours of the landscape are really nice. A lot better than I can do

You could say that, or you could say that someone definitely knows its a tree. So, in terms of communication its accurate. Besides, it has some lighting details that are nice.

Why isn’t it supposed to look like that? Art is a personal expression. And everyone views each piece just a little bit differently due to backgrounds. If you personally are not a fan of it ‘right now’, put it away for a while and maybe revisit it later and see what you think…add onto it you still feel the same way. I can’t tell you how many paintings I have finished, hated, gone back to and either decided I actually DID like them or completely repainted the dang thing! That’s the beauty in it.

I really like it. The color scheme is serene. There’s differentiation in the landscape but it’s blended together well. It is a calming painting.
