My son had extreme ones as a child , he’s now 16 and doesn’t remember them and has no signs of sz. Just wondering if it’s a early warning sign for sz . He would get terrified and scream and run away from us swing, kick and hit us. He would look at us like he was looking right through us and his eyes would dialate kinda strangely. Was really kinda scary because it would gone for 1 1/2 or so. We usually turned Elmo on the TV and held him while he was fighting us. Eventually he would get into the movie then we would put him back in bed. Anyone know anything about it or experience it. He never remembered the next day, this was when he was a toddler.
I don’t think so. But I did have terrible/gruesome nightmares as a young child and often I’d wake up to scary hypnagogic hallucinations after them.
I still do occasionally wake up to hypnagogic hallucinations after nightmares but I learned how to manage it. Maybe he is also seeing those hallucinations after he wakes up.
(Note that even normal people can experience hypnagogic hallucinations, it’s just the brain not fully realizing it’s awake yet so you still see dream like images)
