Night sweats/nightmares, anyone?

So i’ve been a little messed up lately, been functioning A-OK, literally, made a 95 on my first medical ethics exam and a 98 on my first psych exam. I am a bit symptomatic from the stress and anxiety of school and I have been having nightmares, waking up in the middle of the night and not going back to sleep, waking up sweating, ect.

I just try to go back to sleep, never can, end up starting the caffeine and nicotine consumption and then take a nap for a couple-few hours later in the day if I have time. Today my night class is cancelled so I can go to literature at 1pm and then nap when I get home at 3.

It doesnt impede my functioning, its just really unpleasant. I am all systems go and then some. I read that it could be indigestion, which makes sense given the huge amount of crap I eat every night after lifting. Like I will eat lots of fatty food at night, I eat those meal bars during the day and they are only 400cal so I have to eat like 1500cal every night. Last night I think I ate over 2000cal within two hours, and here I am, been awake since 330am.

Who else has this crap and what do you do when you wake up wide awake after a few hours?

I don’t mean to scare you but night sweats can be a sign of cancer. ? I doubt you have cancer. Do you have bloodwork done often? If so, you can easily disregard my post. It’s just what the doctor told me when I lived in Arizona. Turned out it was just Arizona making me sweat at night.

Nightsweats can also be caused by nightmares.

I get nightmares from time to time, they are pretty bad.

yeah 2 nightmares this week that were so terrifying!
my mum says when I was a kid I used to grind my teeth in my sleep. my brain just isn’t a very pleasant place to be for very long.

Eating protein and fatty foods before bedtime will keep you up. It is also recommended that you should not drink caffeine after 3:00 pm. I ALSO read that you should never take a nap after 3:00 pm. You can research these if you feel like it. Research “sleep habits”.

i dont get nightmares much , but very weird vivid or lucid dreams

don’t eat 4 hours before bed.
don’t drink caffeine late at night
drink lots of water
have a calming tea
put gentle music on
write your nightmares down…so you can analyse them later
make sure your room is a cool temperature
try to wind down an hour before bed.
take care

Beware of any acidic juices like lemonaide, tomato juice, orange juice, because these can make your stomach burn when you lay down after drinking them.

Much support many thanks wow

It’s so nice that you have obtained such good grades, mortimermouse. Bad sleep and Nightmares usually mean a relapse to me. So maybe your brain can not withstand so much stress from your study. You might need to drop one or two subjects.

The sauna might help for de stressing

I’m on Geodon xanax and propanolol
