Normies aren’t immune to self-delusionment. I think that many of them are still deluding themselves into believing that this virus isn’t as bad as it is, because they don’t want to face the reality. Taking a group stand like not wearing face masks in public helps them to socially reinforce their comforting delusion.
“See? There are a bunch of us who firmly believe we are safe!”
I think this issue can be blinding to people. My friend recently took me out for my birthday and was a little self righteous I think in not taking care with her mask. She’s normally a very caring person and how nice was it that she bought me lunch, but did she not realize the person she was most putting at risk was me?
A certain religion is also a big part of it. They claim ***** will protect them from the virus so they don’t need a mask and using a mask is equal to not trusting ***.
Do you have a link you could pm me? I’m curious about who is doing that. My denomination is telling us to stay home if we can, even if the governments ‘open back up.’
I’ve seen people not wear masks especially in dollar tree. It’s like they say wear the mask for yours and importantly others protection too. My father in law Is one of those people that claim it’s for no good reason
NB: People on the autism spectrum can have difficulty wearing masks . I can wear one, but it’s far from easy . I have to mentally grit my teeth. It can be much worse for others on the spectrum.
