So after a long time of trying to stick to a plan of running a few times a week and failing, which was an attempt to lose some body fat that ive accumulated over the last couple years. I have decided to change it up a bit. Im going to start using weights like dumbbells and my own body weight to try to pack on some muscle instead. I dont know much about it but have heard that its easier to gain muscle when your already a little overweight. Which i am. Instead of aiming for the skinny crack head look that ive always admired, im going to aim for a more toned feeling. And hey, who ever said some muscles werent handy? But anyway, obviously this is all mostly an attempt to improve my mental wellbeing. Physical health is a part of that. Thanks for listening if you got this far. And let me know of any tips if you have some!
I completed my first workout earlier today and feel heaps better mood wise.
Yeah it’s a good investment and using body weight exercises it’s a cheap one too. I started with some simple barbels and moved up to a bench and some more free weights. I am saving to get a decent functional trainer but they are a couple of grand so it’ll take a while. Still. You’ll be suprised how you can tone up and get strong pretty quickly if you keep it regular.
Good for you. Hope you stick with it and good luck!
I do pump twice a week at home to a video.
Best wishes for us.
@rogueone by trainer do you mean a personal trainer? I just did a supposed full body workout with just dubbells and my own weight this morning. I dont have a bench press or anything. Wont lie, one would be pretty cool and useful.
Talking about equipment. It’s a combination of cables and free weights. There’s different setups but it’s a more complicated machine for different exercises. You are able to do more specific exercises so that is a new goal of mine.
Good luck with your workouts
