Unfortunately they discharged me under ā€œgeneral circumstancesā€ and I was not mentally fit enough at the time to protest. I donā€™t know if I could have anyway. Regardless, it isnā€™t dishonorable but I donā€™t qualify for benefits.

You should apply for VA benefits if your condition developed during service it should be service connected and a general discharge will get you VA benefits.

Did you keep your medical records? See a VSO in your area and have them help you to apply. Nothing to lose.
