Learning a new language teaches you how to think differently and that will change the wiring of your brain, because of neuroplasticity.
Example: In English we say Orange Juice, in French they say Juice d’orange, or literal translation. Juice of Orange, so its like the opposite order of words in English. It’s like this for a lot of things in a lot of languages.
Extrapolate this and the billions of people around the world speaking different languages, they are all thinking differently too, no wonder there is so much disagreement and even war in the world, and throughout history.
Yeah, a direct translation of some Spanish sentences are like Yoda talking…
I recently finished a course online about about the brain and language. I don’t remember much of it cos my brain doesn’t work like it used to but the course was very interesting. In it I learned that the left side of the brain is responsible for languages. You seem to know more about this
