i guarentee tat 90% of people that are looking for a cure will be healed by a suger pill. as long as they think they are taking something to cure them they will believe its working. Why are so many people trying something deadly first? all i hear is so many bad side effects.from a mental drugs. trust me its all in the mind. most of the drugs out there do nothing more than harm you. If you have a cut on your arm and want a cure all you have to do is cut off your arm. thats what most drugs do.it gives you something else to worry about, like side effects, then you worry about them and forget about your first problem
stop taking deadly drugs like risperidal consta and invega sustenna, they are deadly and poisonous. i’m dying a torturous death from 6 monthly shots. over 50 side effects. i was forced. and this is america, ya right
Then how come, although not perfect, antipsychotics regularly outperform placebos/sugar pills?
They are shooting in the dark. Statistically the drugs do something, but I’m with you a lot of that is probably the placebo effect. As time goes on science will figure it out. The problem is we are solid physical objects, it is very difficult to see what’s going on inside, esp when regarding the electrochemical storm that is the brain.
Proposing you have a cure is preposterous.
Med provide a layer of reassurance and stability. Important stuff, don’t right them off.
I’m sorry your dealing with side effects. Sz is a bad hand all around. Moreover I’m sorry you were forced. Good behavior might prevent that.
No the meds work, this is for sure - but they come with a price to pay and this is the unfortunate part.
They help the mind, but hurt the body.
Come this week I am going to leave Risperdal because of a lot of the prolactin related side effects - its on to a new drug that will either raise my prolactin again, worsen my diabetes or change my heart rhythm.
Its a trade off of sorts - The meds make me function mentally but screw with my physical health.
Who said life was fair.

I’ve been taking meds for 35 years. ONE: I don’t feel poisoned. I manage to work, drive, live independently, and take college classes on a regular basis.TWO: You’re telling me that 35 years of meds working for me is all due to a placebo effect?

Hi @shane. Busy for one day posting multiple antimedication posts on your first day here. That’s something a troll would waste time doing. You should read all these forums here to find how many are helped before calculating the statistics.
Sorry you were misdiagnosed. Forgive those who were ignorant and prove them wrong and live a happy life.
