Do i have to reply to multiple posts and if i speak to someone three times i get blocked from replying i understand spamming and trolling but i mainly want to talk about the puppy that woke me up licking my eye this morning or how my illness effects me didnt mean to offend anyone ta m

I think there are rules that apply only to new members…that blocking should stop after a couple weeks or so.

I’m not understanding why drawing is not allowed? Do be careful of using headphones to drown out voices. That’s part of why I’m half deaf now. @jukebox is right, the site software has anti-spamming protections built-in so users have to gradually build ā€œtrustā€ through participation to earn additional posting privileges. Just keep being part of the community and you’ll have increased access.

Welcome.

It just takes practice. Begin with one thing you would like to start doing again and make a point of doing it for several minutes a day. I started with reading a few sentences and then a few paragraphs, eventually made it to whole books again. I kept a recovery journal tracking my efforts so I could tell when I was making progress.

I’m treatment resistant so I have 24/7 positive symptoms buzzing in my ear. CBT has helped me learn to treat them like background conversation or at worst elevator music. I shove the noise to the side and keep going. It’s doable, but it takes a lot of practice.

The one thing that might really help at the outset is being careful of your stress level. I’m sure you’ve noticed how your whole illness dials up when you’re upset over something. I’m very careful to avoid the news for the most part and other things that wind me up. I do lots of calming rituals throughout my day. Lower stress = lower symptoms = happier me.

Hope this helps?

I need to do that with the television i cant watch it because i hear people talking through it and i end up having a conversation with the tele instead of enjoying the film

its very common that symptom, i had it and so i have cut my tv out and only watch the occasional sport (less lately though) yeah i had all of that, it never got to the point where i was talking to the tv but i was getting upset, delusional/paranoid and connecting dots that shouldn’t be getting connected.

I’d be careful of things that are directly triggering. I love me some X-Files but I also have a problem with alien delusions and fixations. I can watch the show when my insight is good because I know what’s real and what isn’t. When I’m not in good shape is when I avoid anything that winds up my alien fixation. Going through a stretch of that right now, actually thanks to a med change. I’m watching camping videos instead or working on my travel trailer.

You have any fun hobbies you can do @Opal1999? I find that getting out for a walk or using a camera really helps quiet my mind. Even just a nice cup of tea in the park is soothing.

Weve got a german shepard puppy she is my newer friend :orange_heart:
But sadly im disabled so i cant walk that far

Listen to music drawing reading i dont tknow about anything exiting though

Was teaching myself crocheting but my hands and brain were not in sync
