Well, murder and pedophilia are illegal, but I have to admit that your argument is compelling.

Every generation goes through that, in your 30’s most people start to question where they are going and what they want out of life.

I think back in the 1800s in the us more had a moral compass and I like the older traditional world,. I think there is always corruption but now days having a biblical world view is a very small population maybe 4-5 percent. And we are not so accepted by this accepting and tolerant world. But yeah whatever ,wherever, I will live and let live.

There was a lot about traditional values that was brutal and hypocritical. The farther you go back in time the more galling those brutal and hypocritical values got. I’ve often been struck by portrayals of how unbelievably self righteous and hypocritical much of the clergy was during the nineteenth century. And, of course, there was the old issue of slavery. Mark Twain hated the hypocrisy of the values that would allow that. I’m not a big fan of new age philosophy, but I would prefer that to traditional values.

I recall this guy on tv saying that these missionaries to a South Sea island dug out and burned out this root that was the staple crop of the local natives because ā€œit made life too easy for themā€. God save us from the brutal effrontery of traditional values.

Which of these statements are new age or traditional::

  1. It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it

  2. We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit

  3. Be a free thinker and don’t accept everything you hear as truth. Be critical and evaluate what you believe in.
