I told my therapist today about the shadow people bugging me. she said she will mention it to my pdoc. Then she told me since I’ve tried numerous anti psychotics some at very high dosages and that didn’t work to get rid of the symptoms. I may be one of those people resistant to meds and may never be 100% rid of the symptoms.
I tried numerous anti psychotics, some at high dosage too, and eventually went back to low dose abilify. It works the best for me. Who knows what the future will bring with things like cbd meds and iti-007.
Cbd meds made a big difference to positive symptoms in trials when used with an existing anti-psychotic.
Never say never.
I’m essentially in a similar boat symptom wise although the drugs give me breaks from the voices which come and go. Strangely enough I’m used to them now.
If you ignore the visuals (when you figure out what is likely fake) and do not talk to self aloud, you eventually get the voices so you can ignore it. Is just background noise…Might think about study, work in something that suits you now. If on SSI, talk to case worker as it can affect your Medicaid eligibility…Will keep you feeling productive…always liked the extra money so I could support myself.
My voices go all the time/night day for 12 years now. If I sleep, I’m pretty decent. Best results were on seroquel cut into pieces and taken at bedtime to knock me out…I take ambien if I have a hard night, usually after stressful day. I’m just pumped and brain doesn’t want to shut down. Start seroquel at 50 mg and increase dosage as you need up to 500mg…Will mention it is in your best interest to keep your weight down or will be harder to treat insomnia with any of the strong RX…
I wouldn’t give up on ap’'s all together. Maybe you can find something that works.
I’m sorry cbbrown, but don’t give up on meds.
