Nervous about going to the doctor

I was seeing a primary care doctor I was happy with until the clinic closed last Fall. I got a letter saying my doctor was going to a clinic I thought was located off a bus line. So I started going to the medical school for a doctor.

The medical school is really bad. You make an appointment a month or two in advance. I’m having problems and the earliest they could see me was April 27th.

So I tried calling my old doctor, and found out his clinic is located on a bus line. The letter I got said he was only going to take a couple of Medicare Advantage plans, but when I talked to them, they said they would take my Original Medicare.

My doctor’s new clinic is in collaboration with the insurance company that sells the Advantage Plans. I’m still nervous they are going to turn me away because I have original Medicare.

Anyway, I’m going this Wednesday and am hoping for the best.

Good luck! I hope it goes well. Having a good doctor that you like is really important.

Yes, I am praying they don’t turn me away because of my insurance. This is the doctor who told me my foot problems were being caused by my shoes being too small, and advised me to get one size larger. I did this, and the problems with my feet went away. He’s not a MD. He’s a DO, Doctor of Osteopathic medicine.

My primary is a DO, too. I like her much better. She’s better at connecting problems to each other and not just treating each thing separately.
