Does your Dr or nurse ever ask how bad are your negative symptoms? I’ve been going to the same place for about ten years and nobody ever asked there. You would think that they don’t exist with what goes on there. They only care about positive symptoms. The few times I have brought them up they have nothing to say.
Nope. Doubt they even know what negative symptoms are
No, my doctor never asks
I bring it up all the time. Important to watch out for depression and the negatives can feed that. Not much to address the negatives these days. Hopefully better meds will help with that.
my nurse practitioner doesnt even seem entirely set on the fact that i have a psychotic disorder even though a psych diagnosed me, i fit the bill when i was symptomatic, etc, and just says she hopes its a severe anxiety disorder. idk, so she doesnt really ask about negative symptoms ever though she asks about positives like paranoia and hallucinations. she did let me stay on wellbutrin because it helps with my motivation and energy levels though so i assume she has some idea of it.
Not per se but he does ask indirectly eg how’s ur mood, what are you up to nowadays, what do u enjoy doing?
Yeah. I know what you mean. I brought up negative symptoms with my nurse practitioner and she didn’t say anything about them. What the hell?
You got in to see a pdoc already?! That was quick!
I didn’t even know negatives were a thing until I joined this forum. I just thought I was incredibly lazy all of a sudden or something. My doctor’s have still never asked about them or even really acknowledged then when I bring it up.
My psychiatrist never brings it up and when I bring it up she kind of ignores me or is dismissive about it.
My therapist attributes all of my negative symptoms to my medications.
I bring them up. It’s the sole reason I take Wellbutrin and Latuda. Both of them help but I still have them and talk about them.
No, not yet, my pedetrician. He’s asked me about symptoms and stuff and then gave my mom a referral or whatever. He just asked about voices, delusions, and seeing stuff
Have you already been diagnosed? Sorry, I’m confused on how you know you have sz and negative symptoms. I’m tired. Maybe I’m confusing you with someone else.
Yeah, you might be confusing me with someone else. I don’t know if I have it yet, but it runs in my family and I have symptoms, so my mom kind of assumed I had it. I’m going to see a pdoc in less than a month
