Need to lose weight

I just helped my landlord carry some stuff up the stairs. I had to make multiple trips up and down and after I finished helping I was extemely out of breath and my heart was racing… and it took a while for me to catch my breath and for my heart rate to lower. Kind of scared me to be honest

I need to lose weight, it shouldnt be so hard for me to simply walk up and down some stairs. I’m a short man at 5’6 and currently weigh 239 pounds. I know that equals out to a way too high BMI.

I need to take my dieting and exercise more seriously. Heres to a fresh start… I hope I can do it.

Anyone else in the same position as me and need to lose some weight?

start out slow, don’t jump into high exercise.

eat smoothies afterward with some kind of super powder in them.

about 3 or 4 snacks a day, all healthy, then a normal supper.

lots of water.

try to stay busy, not too much sitting.

peace. love.

It’s never too late to start making changes. Just remember you have to stick to it for a while to see results.

Also keep in mind that fitness and losing weight are connected but not entirely the same objective. Chose what the aim is. Make it obvious so you know what you are trying to achieve.

We can both do this! @Aziz just have to eat less and move more. Easier said than done though lol.

It wont help you with getting fitter, but my GP said diet is key for weight and that its very difficult to lose weight with exersice alone if you’re diet is bad.

Me and you both.

yeah, but people with a little bit of weight, or even a lot of weight,

are starving themselves to lose weight.

it’s not the way to do it.

eat when you’re hungry. every 3 or 4 hours. especially if you’re walking a lot. or on your feet at work.

I weighed 240 and I’m 5’6. It took me a year, but I got the weight off. Lost 100 pounds. It is possible to lose it. Not easy, but it can be done. Good luck!

@Pandy - You can do this! I believe in you.

I do feel better. No more diabetes meds, no more cholesterol meds, and no more BP meds!!! Yay!

Thanks! You can too! I think it helps that so many people on this forum battle medication weight, and so many of us are trying to do something about it. Makes me feel less like s*** about it.

Unfortunately after I lose the 10#, I still need to lose another forty. (I’d already lost 56, then gained the 10 back)
