Mysterious egg: What do I do?

I found this egg on my fence post this morning,

I’m kind of afraid to touch it.

What do I do?

I don’t want the little bird to die.

Is there a tree branch above it? Trying to figure out how it got there

I’m trying to figure out how it got there too.

There’s not a tree branch above it.

That’s why it’s so mysterious.

Possibly a raccoon stole it, and got spooked away before he could eat it? That is a bit mysterious

I suppose that’s a possibility,

Would explain why it’s in such an odd place.

Is it light blue? Could be a Robin egg. :hatching_chick::hatching_chick::hatching_chick:

Hatch it and see what comes out of it?

Possibly pushed out of a nest as a bad egg. Robins do that.

It’s kind of light blue/greenish.

That’s most likely a robin egg. Someone might have picked it up. It wouldn’t be viable after falling or being stolen by a predator. Out from the warmth too long.

Look for a mysterious pig on your back lawn and have a nice pork chop and fried egg breakfast.

Seriously though, you’re right, it could have bacteria on it that makes you sick if you touch it with your bare hand.

My husband has decided we’re not going to touch it.

He assured me it’s probably a bad egg and does not contain a baby bird.

But I’m not sure if he knows anything.

I won’t touch it, but I feel bad.

He must know something, lol.

If it was out at night without warmth it’s already too late for it anyways.

Maybe the Easter bunny left it for you

My dad found one almost just like that a couple days ago. Must be that time of year.
