My schizophrenia was showing

Today I totally cussed out my manager at work.

She’s letting this other employee make the shift schedules.

I told my manager that maybe the person who’s making the schedule and the manager is conspiring against me.

The manager reassured me that they are not.

I called the HR but she was busy the first time I called. The second time she didn’t pick up. The third time I think she blocked me or turned the phone off.

They gave me 10 days off next month. I usually get 6.

They complain that they don’t have enough people on staff, then why give me more days off? Why not give me less and have other people have more days off?

The manager said that I have to use up all the days off required according to the law in order to get PTO and take national holidays off.

If it’s really according to the labor standard act, then why don’t they force everybody to take required numbers of days off?

I’m losing money by using the PTO. Something doesn’t click… I’m trying to stand up for myself, because something doesn’t seem fair, feel like I’m being manipulated and gaslighted.

Or is it just my schizophrenia showing?

Could be sz. You shouldn’t be aggressive in the workplace. Aggressive behavior sometimes indicates mental health issues. You should be assertive and if you cant be assertive just accept what they are doing passively. I face issues like this at work but its the opposite problem of getting too much time and being asked to work nightshift. Im passive about it instead of raising hell about it. I dont try to assert myself and say i only want to work scheduled hours for my health, safety, and personal life etc. But those should be your only two options asserting yourself calmly and rationally or being passive not being aggressive.

Most regular jobs frown on cussing out the manager.

I can’t think of any job I’ve had where cursing out the manager would be a net positive on my job. Frankly, I’m surprised you’re still employed.

Do they understand that you struggle with schizophrenia?

I know lots of people who are required to take their PTO within a time frame and it’s nonnegotiable

Cussing out is not cursing at the manager.

It’s more like rap talk, or just having down to earth convo

Yeah true… I mean at times we need to be passive when it comes to employment.

Being assertive isn’t really in a Japanese culture… unfortunately. Unless your in a superior position.

Yeah true… except when your a female and the boss is a male.

Not being sexist here.

Nope… I wouldn’t dare mention schizophrenia too casually at a workplace or any social situation in Japan.

Too much stigma. I will benefit nothing from coming out like that…

Hmm it’s not about the time frame of PTO.

They just require me to take 10 days off work separate from PTO days.

So I would ultimately lose money, by taking PTO days.

Which sucks, because that’s the point of using PTOs… but hey I can’t change this system, and basically they all told me

Welcome to Japan

I guess :jp:

Well took some niacin pills and stabilize my self from freaking out from paranoid thinking of people might be out to sabotage me,

But I made it out okay.

So that is good.
