I worked for one of his colleagues in a retail store about 15 years ago for 2 months, and he filled out the PERSONAL reference as a work reference.
Can’t believe he did that to me.
Not only this but he left the email from the 6th June and didn’t bother to fill it out until 27th June!
Now they have questioned why he says he worked with me
One of the only people I can count on for a personal reference has let me down in stupid fashion
He has really delicate feelings, so I have not had a go at him
BUT, my list of people to do a personal reference is now virtually zero
I am so angry at him for doing this. No idea what he was thinking
Not sure what the government vetting agency will think of this.
If I am asked for another personal reference, I have none

I’m sorry that happened to you @joker … Can you use your GP or anyone from the mental health team. I asked my employment specialist for mine.

Has to be someone who knows me personally for a number of years
Apparently the vetting people are jobs worths my potential line manager said so this might not go down well

Luckily in Belgium you normally don’t need references. Else I would have to ask people from the pre-sz times ages ago. I would feel uncomfortable asking them. Lucky me!
And sorry that you have to deal with such an unwieldy process.
