My night food

I have not been able to sleep because the death of my friend has been in my mind. Life can just end so suddenly. Life, too short to worry, too short to waste. And so I made some night food: sausages and potatoes with ketchup and mustard with a glass of water. It tasted good. Reminded me of my military service when I returned from the weekend vacation and went to a kiosk to buy this food before returning to my military unit. I am just depressed how suddenly my friend passed away.

Can you light a candle in memory of your friend? Maybe that will bring you some comfort as you reflect on your friend’s life.

hmm, I’m 52 and wrote my obit last year.

I hope your friend had a good, eventful life.

I did light a candle both yesterday and today.

What do you mean by kiosk? The food sounds good.

Do you see the irony?

It was not an English word, it is a place where you can buy food and drinks outside.

In the Mall here, in Massachusetts, are several kiosks. One sells earrings and will do piercings.

Yep ‘kiosk’ is an English word. I actually meant a kiosk where they fry sausages and potatoes. In my youth these kiosks were everywhere, but today there are just a few left.

In English, when it comes to selling fast food or fresh produce or artisan foods we sometimes refer to it as a food stand, a food stall, a food booth, or a food kiosk, although all four terms are pretty interchangeable. For example, a hotdog stand. an ice cream stand, a coffee kiosk, or a vegetable stall, a fruit stand, or a homemade jam booth (e.g, at the farmer’s market).
