My new weight loss diet - constructive criticism (boring boring boring)


again i’m trying to lose weight but i don’t know if i will on what i have set out for myself

i’m on a diet where i have to eat bread for a coeliac test, and for healthy weight loss

so this is it

i need to know if it sounds okay for a middle aged woman of 12 stone 9 to lose weight.

1 wholemeal toast with marg

1 wholemeal toast with marg, (medium big) home made veg soup. oil, herbs spices veg

half a broccoli - no oil no butter

80g nuts

bedtime x 2
glass of hot almond milk with turmeric, ginger and cinnamon (golden milk)

ps. while i serve my husband fish, meat, milk products, cream and steak and chips and cake and flapjacks, crisps yoghurt ( can be hard but it’s all stuff i want to keep away from )

To be honest, that doesn’t sound like a lot of food.

i have a lot of lost perspective sometimes

it has to be maintainable
or easy to cheat good cheats by avoiding sugar

This sounds like you’re basically starving yourself.

Its not enough calories.

Why don’t you use a calorie counting app?

I use one and it tells me how many calories I have for each meal in order to lose a certain amount of weight by a certain time.

Its very useful.

Also, it adjusts for exercise.


but today i am having a witches brew of boiled garlic in red wine (a half bottle total)
and i had an 85 kcal lentil snack

so that already sounds like breaking it but i’ll avoid the hot milk

I’m not aiming to starve myself I’m aiming for about 1500 - 1600 kcal…

i could do an ap but it’s hassle after a couple of days and i never stick to it

oh the red wine thing is a cough helper - i have a cold

Do you know how many calories your current regimen is?

I’d guess <700.

Soup (veg, made with some oil) = 275 calories
lentil crisps today = 85 calories
half a bottle of red boiled up with garlic = 210 calories
80g nuts = 400 calories
a broccoli = 100 calories

i guess it is interesting to look at…


that is not bad there is wiggle room for the future when i lose faith with it

sedentary at the minute with a cold but i can adjust when i go back to the gym in couple of days

You’re not allowing yourself enough food. You have to eat at least 1200 calories a day in order to lose weight. Otherwise you go into starvation mode. And that is a weight gaining mode. To lose weight, eat about 1200-1400 calories a day (for a female).
