My nephew has been evaluated

My nephew is currently inpatient in one of the best psychiatric hospitals in the world.
He was having major issues with depression and suicidal ideation.
My brother who is wealthy decided to spend the extra money and send his son to get treated and evaluated out of state to the best hospital in the United States.
After weeks of numerous evaluations, the doctors and psychologists diagnosed my poor nephew with depression, anxiety, ocd.

What was a big surprise was that the doctors there also diagnosed him with Asperger’s and a type of Narcissism.

My brother is a Narcissist so maybe the genes was passed down to my nephew.

I’m also now suspecting that I may have Narcissistic traits (Communal Narcissism)

My father is also a Narcissist.

My nephew has tried everything including Ketamine and dozens of meds with no avail for his depression.

My brother is keeping him in a treatment/work program for another two months.

Currently he is undergoing TMS treatments.

I hope to God he gets better.

My brother and his ex wife are crushed

Sending good thoughts your way, @Wave. I think we all remember whats it like to get started in the psychiatric medical care, and its not pleasant.

Poor guy. At least he’s getting help and answers early in his life. I’m sure that will make a difference.

It is very typical, if your nephew is in between the age range of 21- 26 year.

@Wave hello, i’m sorry to hear about your nephew. I’m assuming hes older than I first thought but I don’t really feel too comfortable asking you questions.
I think whats important is that he has been given a diagnosis which is very helpful in terms of getting treatment.
I imagine the process of getting a diagnosis of a personality disorder, and I do have reasons to believe that some scenarios required the patient to practically ask for it but thats just my general feeling.
I mentioned many troubling things and self loathing thoughts while I was being evaluated luckily none really stuck to me.
It’s good that your nephew is taken seriously. I’ve been in that system and theres every reason that he will be discharged in a much better place mentally then when he arrived.
Best regards
