My minimalist challenge and what is true freedom

So I’m fond of minimalism, it’s when one lives with very essential and useful possessions and discards all unused possessions.

I’ve read online how some people live with 134 or 288 or 100 or 300 items and it inspired me to reduce and count my items (and some of hubby’s )

I’ve read that average American household has 300000 items in it and I’ve experienced some people’s houses that were over cluttered and how I felt like I wanted to have a panic attack it suffocated me to be there

So I love simplicity. I want to live like a traveller, light and free

I’ve discovered that freedom is not being single and unmarried necessarily, but freedom is when one lives light like a traveller.

So I want to. And though I’m married I feel more free now than ever before

I counted my possessions and most of hubby’s and made a list. Some items I want to give away and I’ve already set aside half my bookcase of books to give away or sell.

I counted toiletries as one item, so with stationery and admin stuff and some other disposables but clothes I counted separately

I have a total of 111 items of clothes and the entire house comes to a grand total of about 850 items. I can pack house in a day! And I’m still getting rid of a few more items.

It feels AWESOME!!!

That is wonderful. All you really need is to be warm, food and a little entertainment. I used to have lots of gear, sometimes i grief these sentimental values, but overall i feel better with less.
