Swollen on the left side. Luckily, I see the endodontist in 3 hours. I hope they can do something today
I hope they can help you.
Hope you feel better soon, @LilyoftheValley!
Thanks @anon4362788 @Schztuna Im in panic mode right now. I’m afraid that if they don’t do anything today that the infection will spread to my brain. I’m so freaked out
If you’re on antibiotics there’s a good chance that won’t happen, but I do understand your fears-- I would be nervous too.
Wishing you well
I don’t know what your exact issue is but I had a infected tooth that made my face and jaw swell up awful. The dentist gave me strong antibiotics and the swelling went down very quickly, over the course of a few days. If you have something similar you should be ok if you are seeing your endodontist fairly soon.
I think you will be ok. Good luck.
Thanks. I’m on an antibiotic. I started it yesterday but today I’m worse.
Thanks @Bowens . I have an infected molar that needs root canal therapy. The infection is causing half my face to swell
Hmm…so it is similar to mine. The antibiotics worked for me fairly quickly. I hope yours kick in soon and you see the swelling goes down like mine did.
My dentist told me that what he was giving me were really strong. Maybe your antibiotics aren’t strong enough? I honestly don’t know…my swelling was getting worrisome enough that the dentist was concerned about it cutting off my breathing…but like I said, the antibiotics they gave me worked very quickly to lower my swelling.
Again, good luck. I’m sure they will take care of you.
Oh I see from the other thread that you are allergic to tons of antibiotics…I now see why you are having issues. Sorry about that. Hopefully they will be able to find something that you can take that works quickly.
I’m allergic to most antibiotics. That’s why I’m on the one I’m on. Unfortunately, I don’t have a lot of options. It sucks!
i hope you get better soon @LilyoftheValley
Thanks @lekkerhondje !
How did your appointment go @LilyoftheValley?
The endodontist said my root canal was the most difficult one shes ever done. The whole tooth completely calcified because it was infected for so long and cracked deeply from my grinding. My regular dentist missed that I needed a root canal for way too long. She said my tooth was like stone. But it’s done now. I’m in a lot of pain, but hopefully the 800 mg Motrin kicks in soon.
