When I go out to vape out back often my Maggie will follow me. Lately I have been noticing she will do the same thing almost every time. She goes on the porch, spends a couple minutes listening and smelling. Then her hair down the middle of her back will stand on end, like she has a small mohawk going down the center of her back. Then she will run off the porch and go bark at whatever she heard or smelled.
Weird stuff.

That’s my go-to line whenever there’s a foul odor in the air. I’ll say, “Oh. That’s just my dollar store cologne.” 
I don’t wear cologne often, usually only when I’m going someplace special, but when I do, I make it Dos Equis beer.
I like Axe Body Spray when I’m heading out once and a while.
My comment was a bit of a inside joke. THey used to have these “most interesting man in the world” commercials for Dos Equis beer in the states. probably did not have them in Canada.
It is true that I do not wear cologne very often, though.
They had them in Canada…I remember them.
Good. Now that I know that more of these commercials are more universal, be prepared for my “wheres the beef?” and “avoid the noid” jokes.
Her hair fin is a form of communication.
It could be excitement, anxiety, fear, curiosity etc.
It’s a response to a dogs nervous system.
My late dog would raise his hair fins.
