Most of us are insignificant persons living insignificant lives. I certainly am. I have my say, but it’s swept underwater by an ocean of indifference.
But that’s how 99.9% of people live. I think what matters isn’t how significant we are, but how happy and loved we are!
I’m happy just being a nobody. People that become famous don’t have a personal life. They have to constantly deal with having their privacy ruined by idiots like stalkers, paparazzis, tabloids etc.
I think a lot of us are just asking for love. Maybe someday I will experience it. Who knows??
You are good @firemonkey! That’s all that matters.
Is this because of not working or having a career?
To some degree -yes. But mainly I want to be helpful. Make a positive difference. Just having major doubts about my ability to do so.
When you think about it 100% of us are insignificant in ways. Cos the universe is just so vast. We are just a speck of sand.
I try to be humble. To help others by showing that I am not better then them. To help those who feel worthless that I am of no more worth then they are. I try to help others appreciate themselves when they feel they have nothing to appreciate about themselves. I try to help others see a positive way to live the rest of their life when they feel they are completely hopeless. I try to make a difference by not being hypocritical with my life. I try and help others achieve what they dream of achieving. I try and help others believe in themselves.
Take powerful people whom many other lives depend on. And who stomp on those lives.
Take celebrities who can’t handle fame and money, ending up addicted to drugs/alcohol/sex.
Take rich people who live a life of luxury and selfishly provide only for themselves.
There are many ways to fail significantly. Before wanting more leverage, make sure you know how to use it.
I know I would be a poor leader and a lousy father. 'Tis why I’ve banned myself from pursuing those avenues. I still try to make a difference in the lives of my closest friends, I donate to charities and I do my best at a modest job.
I can sum up, what i’ve learned i guess…
‘‘The wisdom teaches us, that we are nothing, while the love teaches us, that we are everything’’
Thats it heh
Yeah, i just know some hinduists, who teach us to not be afraid to feel as nothing per times, while Rumi says, that we are all the universe in us in the same time…
Hugs to all
You have company. I write a photo blog for a person that died. That’s how large my readership is.
I feel very insignificant too. Its mostly my abuse delusions that lead me to believe that my actions and thoughts are more important than they really are.
I miss feeling like a private nobody lol
I prefer staying in the house. I turn on the news and there’s crime everywhere. I worked at a Catholic hospital. The biggest Catholic hospital organization in the United states. An older guy I know worked there for 20 years. He said they always claim they are short on cash and go years without raises. They dish out $30,000 to $40,000 bonuses every year to doctors. They also pay for doctors to go on retreats for continuing education. But they always want you to do more with less. I tried to be invisible at work. The more you stand out the more you’re seen as a threat to their egos. They want you to be thankful for your job and to live low. They say it in so many words. There’s so much corruption and crap on my local news I prefer to stay invisible. More peace that way. Then I read the internet news and a large percent of it is propaganda to shape behavior. If they scare you enough with health scare propaganda you’re gonna beg to go to the doctor. My hospital would try to put out there you could have this health problem we have a new screening tool. Better get checked out. It’s better not to get in a pissing contest with a rich ego maniac. It’s better to be invisible. Major religions all want you to be low then they promise hope things will get better. I’m not saying don’t have self confidence. Just don’t do it around a rich prick. He’ll knock you down a peg. Good things.
I prefer to remain insignificant
I like to keep a very low profile
My brother is the opposite
He’s loud and in your face
You have already been helpful and made a positive difference. You just don’t know it yet.
Your life doesn’t have to be filled with amazing events to be significant. A simple kind word can make a significant positive difference in someone’s life.
In the movie It’s a Wonderful Life, George feels like he hasn’t made a positive difference in people’s lives. He tells his guardian angel, Clarence, that he wished he was never born. Clarence grants his wish. Clarence then shows George what life would have been like for the people of Bedford Falls if he had never existed. It was at that moment that George realizes that he had made a significant positive difference in those people’s lives.
I hope that one day that you too will realize how much of a significant positive impact you truly have made in people’s lives.
nothing wrong with that, some can think they are the most significant in the world, spin the globe an inch or two and they seem to no longer exist, as a whole humans are insignificant, but doesnt mean as an individual we should not try to make an impact, even if its just dying of old age being known as a decent person, sounds kinda dark in that way, but the world is anyones who will get out into it
