Mood stabilizer (Mania) vs Antipsychotic

Sounds good @Aziz but you should be asking a qualified psychiatrist these kind of questions.

A gp is not qualified.

Yes, I am not increasing to 5mg without seeing a pdr. I have to apply for a new pdr through my gp.

At which times do you notice these manic symptoms?

When I took 4mg Risperdal at night, the next day after 3pm until I take my night meds. Now on 2x 2mg it doesnt always happen but when it does it happens 1h or less before I take my Risperdal.

I never felt anything at all when taking it.

That’s good that you don’t feel activated @anon9798425
I think that this happens to those of us that are sensitive to antidepressant type meds.

yea i was on lithium too but it was really bad for my thyroid, i still take thyroid meds even though i’m not on lithium anymore.

Lithium blew my thyroid gland, so i have to take replacement hormones (hypothyroidism) the rest of my life.

Lamictal and depakote did nothing for me. I just have to accept my moodswings.

Good luck @Aziz

Mood stabilizing meds are usually given with an AP to prevent extreme high and extreme lows.

In other words, so you don’t feel too manic and/or depressed.

Hope this helps.
