Money can be like sugar. It feels great to have it, but you are left with a hangover from the sugar high. Money can also be like protein, where you use it to give your life stability. You use it to create, by starting a business or by buying a house. It is much healthier to treat money like protein.
You still eating too much sugar?
I’d trade you a bag of sugar for a bag of cash money
It’s not as bad as it was, but I have eaten too much sugar once or twice since they put me on an inhaler. I’ve been drinking fruit juice. That largely ameliorates my need for that substance.
Money is not like sugar. Money is a medium of exchange for goods & services in between something of value such as gold, jewelry or some precious metal. Money is also a measure of value or unit of account where one can quantify how much a good or service is.
Here is a chart on the types of money:
I was speaking metaphorically. Money can be like sugar in that it is a delight to possess it, and if you spend it carelessly on things that only give a temporary good feeling you have an emotional hangover because you spent an important resource on nothing lasting, particularly if you lose it gambling. Money can be like protein in that it makes your living situation more secure, more healthy. You can buy a house with it, and a sensible car. You can use it to pay for education. You can buy health insurance and life insurance to keep your family safe and secure. That’s why money can be like protein.
