Mice in my house, my insane stepmother: your thoughts 💭

My stepmother won’t allow us to hurt the mice. She even feeds them in the basement. They scamper into my room at nice through the radiator. From the basement. Am I right to disagree with her I think it’s unsafe they are growing in number and may carry disease.

Maybe you can find an animal friendly way of getting rid of them.

I got no kill traps and caught one. But only one that way. Then it stopped working.

Maybe you can ask your dad if he wants to have a cat.

Some cats are good at chasing away mice.

Put some traps in your room and don’t let you grandmom find out.

I disagree with her feeding them.

But think you should get rid of them humanely.

You can get this little box that puts off a noise or something that gets rid of them.

It works fast, gets rid of them and also doesn’t involve a lot of dead/dying rats in your house.

We’ve been using sonic plugins to keep the mice out of certain rooms. I can’t tell if they really work. They also keep dying/breaking.

You need to invest in a bigger system.

It may cost, but it’s worth it.

Completely wrong to let the mice live in your house. Nobody wants to kill them but they wont leave the house any other way. They must be killed.

I had the same experience, used a humane mouse trap and caught one, then it never worked again. I think its necessary to get new traps, the mouse you caught probably left scent behind that scares off other mice. Good on you for using a humane trap.

I have used glue traps. They work pretty well. :pig::pig::pig:

I had roof rats in my house’s attic last year. They just suddenly moved in. I had to hire a pest control company to rat-proof the house and they did have to use kill traps. I’m generally against killing animals; however, if they are damaging your property or are a health threat, they need to be removed one way or another.

With that said, it’s ultimately up to your father and step mom as to what they want to do, since it is their house. You may want to consider moving out.
