Do we have bad karma for getting mental illness, or good karma for enduring it. In the end I hope life is alright and I’m not sure about an afterlife or reincarnation but I’m hoping I get to enjoy more of my life. I’m not sure if there is any karma associated with mental illness it is all just luck. Bad or good.
Life is very complex. I think people try to make it simple with concepts like karma.

Having mental illness sure seems like bad karma, since it impacts every part of life, but I don’t quite believe that a person can develop mental illness from bad karma, by cheating / abusing others, if he abstains from substance abuse.
I hope there is some kind of reward / good karma for enduring mental illness though, in this life or the next.
